How a Southwest pickup works
- Photos and the community. Text them, or send them through the estimate form.
- Volume quote, then a yes. Loading and dump fees are already in that number.
- Crew handles the carry. Stairs, elevators, and tight suite hallways are flagged ahead of time.
- Junk leaves, floor gets swept. We do not leave the pile for you to finish.
You do not have to stage it on the boulevard. Basement storage, a second-floor bedroom, or a backyard shed is a normal start. Driveway and garage piles can often be cleared while you are out if access is sorted in the booking.
Southwest communities on the truck route
Crowchild, Sarcee, Glenmore, Macleod, and Stoney Trail SW are already on the weekly loop, from inner-city streets to the west and south suburbs. Regular pickups include:

Where Southwest loads are taken
The truck is sorted before the dump run. Metal, electronics, and other recyclables are separated. Furniture and household goods that still have a use go to Calgary charities and housing programs when they pass that check.
What cannot be reused is disposed of under City of Calgary waste rules. Depending on the day’s route, Southwest loads go to Spyhill or Shepard.

Items left off the truck
Hazardous material stays on site. Ammunition, PCB items such as old fluorescent ballasts, and biohazardous waste are not loaded. Say so up front if the pile includes paint, chemicals, or fuel.

How much of the truck the items fill. You get that figure on site before we move anything. Stairs, a long carry from a suite, or Freon in an appliance can add cost, and we say so before the load starts.
What will you not take?
Hazardous waste is refused. That includes ammunition, PCB items such as old fluorescent ballasts, and biohazardous waste.
Does the junk have to be at the curb?
No. We carry it from the room it is in — upstairs, basement, garage, or backyard.
